West Brom and Hull are leading the chase to land Arsenal starlet Jay Simpson, skysports.com understands.
The 19-year-old forward has progressed well this season, starring in Arsenal's Carling Cup run which saw Arsene Wenger's young guns make it to the quarter-finals.
After bowing out to Burnley, Wenger has admitted that he is ready to let a number of best young players leave on loan in January.
The likes of Wigan, Charlton and Norwich have all been linked with Simpson, who is set to pen a new long-term deal at Emirates Stadium.
However, West Brom and Hull are favourites to bag Simpson until the end of the season.
Both Tony Mowbray and Phil Brown see Simpson as the ideal solution to bolster their striking options.
