Manchester City defender Michael Ball has echoed the concerns of team-mate Robinho regarding the absence of a winning mindset at Eastlands.
Robinho arrived at City on deadline day of the summer transfer window in a British-record £32.5million switch from Real Madrid.
And since moving to England, the Brazilian has claimed that City need to develop a successful mindset if they are to become a major footballing force.
Ball, who has spent time at Rangers and PSV Eindhoven during his career, agrees with his colleague.
Attitude
"We are fine with it," he told city's
official website when asked about Robinho's comments.
"Robbie has played for one of the best clubs in the world and their mentality is that second is nothing.
"That is the kind of attitude you want as it breeds confidence and that's where we want City to be. We don't want second best, we have got to keep pushing up the league.
"I had that when I was with Rangers and PSV - you could lose the league by just a point and it's not good enough."
Threat
Meanwhile, police are investigating the mugging of City striker Darius Vassell as he stepped out of a taxi.
The forward was robbed of his designer watch and jewellery on his return home from the club's Christmas party.
Vassell, 28, was not injured during the incident, but was threatened by the two offenders.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Police were called following reports of the robbery. On arrival they found a 28-year-old man whose watch and jewellery had been stolen.
"He had not been injured during the incident but the offenders had threatened him. Inquiries are ongoing."
