Barcelona have handed a new one-year contract to Sylvinho.
The 34-year-old was out of contract at the end of the season and it seemed as if he would depart Camp Nou.
However, Barca have opted to retain the former Arsenal defender for another 12 months.
"Barca have offered another year and I have finally accepted the conditions," he told RAC1.
"I am content there and the club also value my work.
"It is normal that all players desire to play but it is necessary to be patient."
