New Tractor Boys boss wants Higginbotham reunion

Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham is adamant he will stay at the Britannia Stadium after reported interest from Ipswich Town. New Tractor Boys boss Roy Keane signed the left-back when he was in charge at Sunderland and is supposedly interested in adding him to his squad at Portman Road. Higginbotham has moved to quash any hopes the Irishman has of making the 30-year old his player again by insisting that this time he is not prepared to leave Stoke. "This is where I have been happiest. I really enjoyed last season," Higginbotham told The Sentinel. "These reports are pie in the sky and, besides, I don't see any reason why I would want to move. "I played 30 games last season in the best league in the world, and we finished 12th. Now I want to be part of the club's success for the next few years." Meanwhile, Stoke have trimmed their wage bill with the departures of four out of contract players. Vince Pericard and youngsters Tom Thorley, Jimmy Phillips and Marc Grocott have all been released. First team squad player Salif Diao has been offered a one-year extension to his deal but as of yet the Senegal international has not made a decision.
