Michael Turner has agreed a new deal with Hull City which will keep him at the KC Stadium until 2013.

The defender, who is an integral member of manager Phil Brown's side, has secured improved terms with the Tigers.

Turner, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2011, earned rave reviews for his early season displays and the Premier League newcomers were eager to secure his services.

Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "He's agreed a two-year extension which keeps him with the club until 2013 and that's a massive step forward for us.

"It's a massive positive for Hull City, players like Michael are the future of the club."

Turner, who joined Hull from Brentford in 2004, was tipped for England honours earlier in the season and linked with Manchester City and Liverpool.

He follows fellow defender Kamil Zayatte in committing his future to Hull, the Guinea international making his loan move from Swiss side Young Boys permanent last month.
