Sunderland's Teemu Tainio looks set to miss out on a sentimental return to Tottenham after suffering an injury in the Premier League opener against Liverpool last weekend.
The midfielder suffered a muscle strain against the Reds, which has forced him out of Finland's friendly international with Israel on Wednesday.
Roy Keane told the club's official website: "Teemu went on international duty but was sent back, he has a muscle strain and he'll be a doubt for Saturday."
The 28-year-old, who joined his Finish team-mates on Sunday, has been sent back to Wearside for treatment.
Edwards pulls out of friendly
Carlos Edwards was another Sunderland player to pull out for international duty this week, for personal reasons, but Keane expects him to be available for the trip to London at the weekend.
Tainio was one of three players to move to the Stadium of Light from Tottenham in the summer.
