Newcastle are closing in on the signing of Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini.
Coloccini watched Newcastle's 2-1 win over Valencia on Saturday after Newcastle agreed a fee with Deportivo for the big central defender earlier this week.
Magpies owner Mike Ashley sported the name of Coloccini on the back of his shirt during the game with Valencia to signal that a move is close to completion.
Coloccini would join Danny Guthrie and Jonas Gutierrez as Newcastle's summer signings if he seals the move.
Magpies boss Kevin Keegan refused to confirm if a deal was close but is hoping to add at least a couple of more signings before the close of the transfer window.
"Yes I would like to think once that [Coloccini's deal] is completed then there will be two more and then we will see what happens," said Keegan
"I think there will be lots of comings and goings late on as clubs try to rebalance and somebody will become available who will be of interest and I think we will be in there pitching like anybody else."
