Danny Welbeck is the top scorer in the European Qualifiers, after netting his sixth goal in five games on Friday night.

The Arsenal forward hit England's second in their 4-0 win over Lithuania at Wembley and that effort was enough to send him clear at the top of the scoring charts, ahead of five-goal pair Northern Ireland's Kyle Lafferty and Germany's Thomas Muller.

Earlier in this campaign, Welbeck scored braces against Switzerland and Slovenia, and also got his name on the scoresheet in a 5-0 thrashing of San Marino, to help England take charge of Group E.

Lafferty was also on target at the weekend, scoring both of Northern Ireland’s goals in a 2-1 win over Finland, while Muller struck in Georgia as World Cup-winners Germany eased to a 2-0 victory.

More from European Qualifiers

Six players, including England captain Wayne Rooney, Scotland star Shaun Maloney and Wales ace Gareth Bale, have scored four times.
