Barcelona have bounced back brilliantly following a shock home defeat to Malaga two weeks ago and will hope to maintain their form against Villarreal.

Luis Suarez's brace saw off Manchester City in the Champions League last-16 first leg last week and the striker was on the scoresheet again in Saturday's 3-1 win against Granada.

That may concern Villarreal as they prepare to welcome Luis Enrique's side, but they should also be in buoyant mood having gained an impressive result of their own at the weekend.

A hard-fought 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid brought Gerard Moreno's 13th strike of the season, and the 22-year-old will be desperate to add to his five Copa del Rey goals on Wednesday.

This should be an engrossing contest between two hugely competitive teams, with Villarreal certainly capable of over-turning a 3-1 first-leg deficit should Barcelona struggle to find their rhythm.

Manu Trigueros' away goal at the Camp Nou on February 11 could yet prove decisive, although Lionel Messi and co will be eyeing an all-Catalan final against Espanyol.

Espanyol v Athletic Bilbao, 9pm, Wednesday, Sky Sports 5 HD
After crashing out of the Europa League to Torino last week, the Copa del Rey is now Athletic Bilbao's last remaining hope of achieving any of their pre-season aims.

Ernesto Valverde's team have endured an inconsistent campaign so far and, despite a 1-0 Basque derby victory over Eibar on Sunday, they remain rooted in mid-table in La Liga.

They face a tough test against Espanyol, however, with Wednesday's hosts boasting an invaluable away goal from a 1-1 first-leg draw in Bilbao.

Espanyol also have the benefit of an extra day's rest, having beaten Cordoba 1-0 on Friday evening while Athletic didn't play until Sunday.

That could prove vital if the second leg goes to extra-time, with Sergio González's side sharing Barcelona's motivation to set up a Catalan derby in the final.
