Bartosz Bialkowski - Notts County
Notts County's Bartosz Bialkowski repeatedly denied Swindon in Saturday's 0-0 draw at the County Ground. Bialkowski, the Polish 25-year-old, endeavoured to keep County's play-off hopes alive with a collection of stops from the likes of Adam Rooney, Louis Thompson and Enoch Showunmi, with his best effort coming in the closing moments. His performance drew high praise from manager Chris Kiwomya, who said: "Bartosz is a good lad and a great character. One day he will be a top-class goalkeeper because he is only 24 and has plenty of time."
Andy Taylor - Walsall
Walsall are building up a head of steam in the race for the play-offs and are now 10 matches unbeaten in League One following a 0-0 draw with Hartlepool. Whilst they missed top scorer Will Grigg upfront, they stayed solid at the back and Taylor played a huge part, including adding a threat at the other end with his dangerous set pieces that troubled the Pools defence. If Walsall are going to continue their push towards the play-offs, much of their progress will come down to Taylor and his fellow defensive charges.
Nathan Clarke - Leyton Orient
Clarke shone for Leyton Orient in their 0-0 draw at Preston North End, surviving a knock to the head early on to lead his side in a Man of the Match display. The 29-year-old made a number of important clearances to preserve the Os' seven-match unbeaten run. Whilst Clarke has struggled with injuries for parts of the season, he finally seems to be coming into full fitness and, crucially for Orient, into the sort of form that they will need from their captain if their play-off dreams are to be fulfilled.
Andy Butler - Walsall
Butler's defensive muscle provided the foundation for Walsall's defence against Hartlepool, and the captain led by example in snuffing out Pools' threat. His physical presence disrupted attack after attack as Hartlepool were made to look toothless. If Walsall are to maintain their current good form and reach the play-offs, Butler and his defensive partner Paul Downing will have to produce more performances like this, while hoping that Will Grigg can add to the 18 goals he has for the season so far. Walsall are outsiders but Butler's side could cause an upset if their good form continues.
Gary Liddle - Notts County
Gary Liddle helped to keep Swindon at bay at the County Ground - even if he and his fellow defenders had to be bailed out more than once by goalkeeper Bialkowski. To take a point from the Robins is widely considered to be a good result and County will be relieved to add another to their tally of 58. Liddle made a number of key clearances and blocks as the stand-out player in the Magpies' back four. With the pressure mounting his composure towards the end of the game was vital in securing a draw against the Robins.
Matt Ritchie - Bournemouth
Ritchie grabbed his first Bournemouth goal since his January transfer with a sweet 25-yard strike to give his side the lead against struggling Bury. Their 4-1 win reflected their superiority and the former Swindon player showed his class with the pick of the goals at Dean Court. Ritchie looks to be finding his feet at just the right time as the Cherries push for promotion to the Championship and the £500,000 signing will be looking to push on after finally breaking his duck at his new club.
Jed Wallace - Portsmouth
18-year-old Wallace is a growing influence in the Pompey midfield and showed his class again against Coventry at Fratton Park. After his goal at Doncaster last week, he followed up with a fine opener this weekend and is growing with confidence to show himself as one of the leading young League One midfielders. Portsmouth pushed themselves off the bottom of the table with this win and Wallace represents a shining light in midfield as they seek to avoid relegation to League Two, which would be their third drop in four years.
Neal Bishop - Notts County
Bishop was the driving force in County's midfield in their impressive draw away at Swindon's County Ground. The Magpies' captain almost scored in one of his side's few chances, whilst adding grit in the middle as County survived a Swindon onslaught towards the end. Bishop's input helped to secure a valuable point in the fight for a play-off place. The former York and Barnet midfielder is in a good vein of form at the moment and continued it with a solid performance in the middle against the second-place Robins.
David Cotterill - Doncaster Rovers
Doncaster stretched their lead at the top of League One, taking full advantage of Swindon's draw, and much of the credit goes to Cotterill. His excellent cross inside the first five minutes saw David Mirfin turn the ball into his own net and set up Rovers for a dominant performance that the 3-2 scoreline did not quite reflect. Cotterill has been a key man for this Doncaster side and showcased just how valuable he is to Donny, going some way to making the difference for Brian Flynn's side as they seek an immediate return to the Championship.
Patrick Agyemang - Portsmouth
Agyemang made the vital difference in the so-called 'Debtor's Derby' against Coventry. With a goal and an assist to boast, the Ghanaian helped to lift Pompey off the foot of the table and just five points from safety, something no one would have imagined at the beginning of the month. This marked just his second goal for Portsmouth since joining on loan from Stevenage, but the 32-year-old led the line well and set the foundation for another victory to give the Pompey fans further hope of staying up.
Lee Miller - Carlisle United
Miller played a huge part as Carlisle snatched a last-gasp draw against Yeovil on Saturday. After equalising midway through the first half, the 29-year-old striker with nine different clubs to his name grabbed what looked like a stoppage time consolation, before a Luke Ayling own goal secured a 3-3 draw at Brunton Park. He was the only player in League One to score a brace this week in a depleted fixture list. Manager Andrew Jenkins will be looking to his captain to keep up this form until the end of the season as Carlisle look to push away from the relegation zone.
