Fabian Spiess - Notts County
Spiess was called on from the bench 18 minutes into County's trip to Leyton Orient after No.1 Bartosz Bialkowski suffered a head injury and was stretchered off. The 19-year-old rose to the occasion on just his second senior appearance, making a string of fine saves and earning rave reviews for his performance despite the Magpies' 2-1 defeat.
Frankie Simek - Carlisle
The defender was a solid presence for the Cumbrians as they drew 1-1 at home to Scunthorpe, looking comfortable dealing with attacks from the visitors and also showing his prowess getting forward down the right channel, linking up with Danny Livesey.
Mathieu Baudry - Leyton Orient
Baudry earns a place in the side after scoring for Orient as they saw off Notts County. His volleyed effort from Lee Cook's out-swinging corner came just minutes after Dave Mooney had opened the scoring for the hosts, marking the Frenchman's third goal of the season.
Stephane Zubar - Bury
Zubar, on loan from Bournemouth, impressed on his Bury debut in the goalless draw at Shrewsbury. The Guadeloupe international was an imposing presence at the back as he helped the Shakers to their fourth clean sheet of the campaign.
Ben Davies - Preston
Youth academy product Davies made his senior debut for Preston in the 2-2 draw with Coventry and ended the afternoon with the man-of-the-match award. After a nervy opening period, the 17-year-old settled well, providing the cross that set up Nicky Wroe's equaliser for North End.
Josh McQuoid - Bournemouth
McQuoid was influential on the right wing as Bournemouth saw off Crewe 3-1 at Dean Court. The Cherries man produced a string of teasing crosses and teed up Brett Pitman for the home side's second on 67 minutes after the Alexandra defence failed to clear.
Franck Moussa - Coventry
Moussa proved a nuisance to Preston's defence throughout the draw at Deepdale, creating plenty of chances for the Sky Blues. The midfielder set up Leon Clarke's goal in the 38th minute when he skilfully picked out the striker with a low cross, allowing him to turn home from just outside the six-yard box.
Jack Baldwin - Hartlepool
Rock-bottom Hartlepool claimed a much-needed 3-1 victory at Portsmouth and Baldwin helped them to the win, scoring the opening goal. The breakthrough came in the 18th minute when he met Evan Horwood's free-kick with a well-placed header.
Lee Cook - Leyton Orient
Cook was another stand-out performer as Orient beat Notts County, putting in an assured display on the left wing. Cook set up both goals for the Londoners, with Mooney nodding home after his powerful drive had been deflected onto the crossbar by the keeper, while his corner allowed Baudry to add another.
Brett Pitman - Bournemouth
Another hero of the Cherries' victory over Crewe was Pitman as he grabbed an influential hat-trick. Two of the striker's goals came from the penalty spot, while those strikes sandwiched a 67th-minute effort when he applied the finish to McQuoid's ball from close range.
Karl Hawley - Scunthorpe
Hawley opened the scoring for the Iron against his former club Carlisle to earn a share of the spoils. His strike came not long after the break as Tom Newey found him well-placed in the box, allowing him to tap home.
