2012: May 13: Wigan finish the season with a flourish. A 3-2 defeat of relegated Wolves is their seventh win in nine games, ensuring they finish six points clear of the relegation zone in 15th position, with 43 points.
May 17: Wigan chairman Dave Whelan reveals managerless Liverpool have made an approach for Martinez and the manager has been given permission to speak to the Anfield side.
