Doig nears exit Northampton captain Chris Doig has admitted he does not expect to stay with the club next term as they prepare for a season back in League Two. Doig missed the 3-0 defeat at Leeds on Saturday with a groin injury and is one of the club's top earners. His contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the Scot revealed he is set to find out his future in a meeting on Tuesday. "We are having a meeting with the gaffer on Tuesday when we will find out," said Doig. "It would be nice to stay but to be realistic I haven't heard anything yet so that is an indication of how it will go. "It was horrible watching the scores come in on TV and knowing that we were relegated. I am gutted."
