New manager set to continue in trademark style

New Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has warned his squad that if they are not comfortable with his style 'they will move on'. Warnock was recently appointed to succeed sacked former Palace manager Peter Taylor by chairman Simon Jordan and he joins the club with a fiery reputation. The former Sheffield United boss ruffled a few feathers in his season with the Blades in the Premier League last year and he appears intent on continuing in his outspoken style. "Palace have always been renowned for having quality players and I'm sure they still are," Warnock told Palace's official website.

Commitment

"But for whatever reason they haven't done as well as expected and for that reason a new manager comes in. "I have my own way of doing things and I hope the Palace players will enjoy it because at other clubs I've always thought the players enjoyed my style of management and the training. "But only time will tell. If they commit themselves and prove they want to play under me, I'm sure they can have a long and fruitful career but if not, as happens at a lot of places, they will move on." On the back of Warnock's warning, Palace striker James Scowcroft admits he has been impressed by his new manager.
Experience
Scowcroft believes Warnock's arrival has got people 'on their toes' at Selhurst Park and that his presence has already had a positive effect. "First impressions are very good - he set the tone in his first training session and let people know where they stood, which is what you want as a player," said Scowcroft. "He's come in and shaken it up a little bit like every new manager would. Everybody's on their toes at the moment and everybody's got to prove themselves. "The manager's definitely got an aura about him. He's experienced and knows what he's doing and the tempo has gone up considerably."
