John Terry talks to Tubes about his Chelsea career and becoming a Premier League winner again

Chelsea captain John Terry says the current title-winning campaign has been the best of his career.

Chelsea won the Premier League on May 3, their first in five years and Terry's fourth overall, and will collect the trophy after their clash with Sunderland on Sunday.

And at 34, Terry says the season has been a personal highlight after his Chelsea career looked doomed under previous manager Rafael Benitez in 2013.

Asked by Soccer AM's Tubes if this is his best season at Chelsea, Terry said: "I think it probably is. It's nice as well because as you get older you get written off, people say once you get to a certain age you are past it.

"Not only myself, but you look at Lamps [Frank Lampard], Stevie [Gerrard], Rio [Ferdinand], players like that. What they've achieved and how they've carried on at the top all their careers, it takes doing."

Terry admits it has been tough seeing other sides lift the Premier League trophy in the past four seasons, and cannot wait to get his hands on the silverware on Sunday.

"It has been a long five years. As a Chelsea fan it is the best feeling ever.

"To sit there and watch other teams, other players lift it really hurts. To get it back, it is going to be a special day at the Bridge."

The former England international has scored eight goals in all competitions this season, and is now the top-scoring defender in premier League history.

And Terry insists while he is in top shape, he will continue to play a big part in Chelsea's success.

"I think you have to be realistic and realise at some point it is going to come to an end. "But I'm feeling great, but more importantly I'm fit, and if you're fit and playing everything is there for you.

"I want to finish at the right time. I don't want to carry on playing and everyone say 'it's finished' and not feel as good as I did, but while I'm feeling great I'm definitely going to continue playing."
