The Primera Division title race took a potentially decisive twist on Saturday as Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Valencia.

The result, coupled with Barcelona's 2-0 win over Real Sociedad, means Barca are four points clear with two games of the season remaining.

Watch Pedro score a stunning bicycle kick to double Barcelona's lead over Real Sociedad.

Luis Enrique's side could not offer the same barnstorming performance that saw them romp to victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday as David Moyes' side produced another impressive defensive display against the Catalans, but their resistance wilted after the break.

Neymar nodded in the opener in the 52nd minute and Pedro scored a fantastic overhead kick late on to make sure of victory.

Real made a sluggish start against Valencia later in the evening and two goals in seven minutes from Paco Alcacer and Javi Fuego put Champions League-chasing Valencia in the driving seat.

The home side's misery was compounded when Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty in a lively first half at the Bernabeu.

Christiano Ronaldo's attempt to half Valencia's lead was foiled by Diego Alves.

Real regrouped in the second half as Pepe headed home to halve the deficit and a sensational long-range Isco strike drew them level in the closing stages, but Carlo Ancelotti's side could not find a winner.

Elsewhere, Granada ensured they remain in the fight to avoid relegation by beating Cordoba 2-0 in an Andalusian derby, with the visitors finishing the game with nine men.

Inigo Lopez was given his marching orders on the half hour and Diego Mainz capitalised by giving Granada the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Youssef El Arabi scored from the spot midway through the second half to finish off the game as a contest, which became even more one-sided when Fede Cartabia talked himself into a red card later on with 12 minutes to go.

Athletic Bilbao's hopes of qualifying for the Europa League were dealt a blow as they conceded a late goal to draw 1-1 with Deportivo La Coruna.

Aritz Aduriz headed Bilbao in front in the 14th minute but Alberto Lopo snatched a point for Depor in second-half stoppage time.
