Eden Hazard's 38th-minute strike helped Chelsea edge Manchester United 1-0 to go 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

The Belgium playmaker was played in superbly by Oscar's clever backheel past a static visiting defence to coolly slip the winner left-footed under David De Gea for his 13th league goal of the season.

In the 3pm kick-offs, goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Andy King earned Leicester City a 2-0 win over Swansea City at the King Power Stadium to boost the Foxes' survival hopes while Burnley suffered a 1-0 defeat at Everton to hit theirs badly.

Argentine forward Ulloa was only on the pitch because David Nugent picked up a calf injury in the warm-up but he buried his chance from 10 yards after being set up by skipper Wes Morgan inside 15 minutes.

Leicester then struck again a minute before full-time through King, after Esteban Cambiasso's free-kick was spilled by Lukasz Fabianski for the Wales midfielder to convert.

The three points from a third successive win lifted Nigel Pearson's side to third bottom in the table, but level with Hull City and one point behind Sunderland, with all three clubs having six games remaining.

Ten-man Burnley suffered a blow however to their own survival hopes losing 1-0 at Goodison Park through Kevin Mirallas' 29th-minute strike.

The Clarets played the whole of the second half a man down after Ashley Barnes received a second yellow card two minutes into first-half added-time for fouling Seamus Coleman.

England midfielder Ross Barkley missed a ninth-minute penalty for the hosts after Dave Jones brought down Aaron Lennon contentiously on the edge of the penalty area.

Sean Dyche's men dropped to bottom behind Queens Park Rangers on goal difference, both teams with only five games to save themselves.

Stoke City came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium to surely end Southampton's hopes of a top-four finish.

Morgan Schneiderlin tapped in the opener for the visitors after 22 minutes but the Potters levelled within two minutes of the restart, through Mame Biram Diouf's scrappy effort.

Charlie Adam won it with six minutes left with a less spectacular effort, from 10 yards, than his wonder-strike at Chelsea.

Crystal Palace's run of four straight wins came to an abrupt halt as they lost 2-0 at the hands of West Brom at Selhurst Park.

James Morrison's header (2) and a 30-yard Craig Gardner screamer (53) gave Tony Pulis's Baggies the victory in a happy return for the Welshman to his former club. It also moved Albion eight points clear of the drop zone.
