Fulham have confirmed a double loan swoop for Danny Guthrie and Richard Lee from Reading and Brentford respectively until the end of the season.

After beginning his career at Liverpool, Guthrie made 114 appearances for Newcastle, scoring nine goals, including a spectacular long-range effort at Craven Cottage in January 2012.

The central midfielder joined Reading after four years on Tyneside, and has since made 69 appearances for the Royals prior to joining Championship strugglers Fulham until May.

The Cottagers manager Kit Symons has also moved to snap up goalkeeper Lee from Brentford.

The 32-year-old began his career at Watford, where he spent time under former Fulham player and coach Ray Lewington, before joining the Bees in the summer of 2010 where he went on to be named Supporters’ Player of the Year in his first season.
