Matija Nastasic is planning to stay on with Bundesliga side Schalke after a successful start to his loan spell from Man City.
The 21-year-old defender is on loan from the Etihad until the end of the season, and Schalke have the option to buy the Serb in the summer.
Nastasic has played in all three of Schalke's games since the winter break, the club conceding just once in the 1-1 draw at champions Bayern Munich.
He told Bild: "I am happy to be here and I am looking forward to every single match. After the end of the season we all have to sit down and discuss the best option available.
"But it is a fact: I would like to stay on long-term at this club. My long-term plan is playing for Schalke."
Nastasic, who impressed under Roberto Mancini in the 2012/13 season, made only 11 league starts under Manuel Pellegrini last term.
