Chesterfield have completed the signing of Sheffield Wednesday forward Caolan Lavery on loan.

Lavery joins the Spireites on an initial deal until March 7, with the possibility of extending the agreement. Blues boss Paul Cook told the club's official website: "We're delighted that Caolan will be joining us. "He's a very exciting forward player who can play as a striker and we thank Sheffield Wednesday for their help with the deal. "We're all a little disappointed at the prospect of losing Eoin Doyle but we feel that Caolan can come in and pick up exactly where Eoin left off and hit the ground running." Lavery has played for both Canada and Northern Ireland at youth level and broke into the Wednesday first team in 2012, so far scoring four league goals for the Hillsborough side. The 22-year-old also impressed last season on loan with Plymouth where he netted three goals in eight League Two appearances before being recalled by his parent club.
