Blackburn captain Jason Lowe insists he remains calm despite uncertainty over the future of teammate Rudy Gestede.

Benin striker Gestede, 26, has struck 13 goals for Rovers this season and has been the subject of a £3.5million bid from Crystal Palace, according to Sky sources, which was flatly rejected by the Lancashire club.

Gestede's agent David Wancier recently told Sky Sports News HQ his client wished to join Palace and was frustrated that Rovers were demanding as much as £6m for his transfer.

But after the Championship club dumped Premier League Swansea out of the FA Cup on Saturday, Low said: "Transfer stuff is just part of football and you get used to it.

"People come and go and your job is to perform well every Saturday you're out there, and that's all we can concentrate on.

"There wouldn't be any interest if they weren't important players. They're very good at what they do so it's no surprise. We just have to make sure they're ready to go with us when they're called upon.

"Obviously Rudy's come on and done the business and that's what I'd expect, the players would expect and he'd expect.

"He's a good bloke off the field. It would be very easy for him to switch-off and take it the wrong way but he hasn't, he's come on, he's ready to go and he's put us ahead."

On Saturday's 3-1 FA Cup win over Swansea, when Gestede stepped off the bench to net a second that put Rovers on the way to victory over their nine-man visitors, Lowe added: "When the big boys are in town you're underdogs and to come out with a win is a nice feeling.

"They've got a lot of individuals with a lot of quality. Obviously the Sigurdsson goal is a hell of a hit. A moment of brilliance like that is what they can do if you stand off them but I felt we bounced back very quickly.

"The sending off obviously helped us early on. We were patient, we stuck to the game plan and got our reward in the end. We've put ourselves in the hat now and we'll see who we get."
