Miller in fitness battle

Midfielder Tommy Miller will have treatment at Hartlepool's St George's Park rehabilitation centre following his latest setback.

Miller, 35, had been hoping to return to contention for Sunday's home defeat to Morecambe and make his 600th career appearance after being sidelined since the end of October with a calf problem. Pools' head physio Ian Gallagher told the club's official website: "This type of soft tissue injury often takes longer to settle in players who are over 30, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating for me or Tommy. "We've tweaked his programme a little to concentrate more on strengthening and the facilities at St George's Park are obviously state of the art so they can measure strength and power. "It's closed until the new year now but we're just awaiting a date for him to go because I'm sure that will really help him make some progress."
