Rob Milsom's loan spell at Bury has been cut short after he returned to parent club Rotherham with a thigh injury.

The 27-year-old midfielder, who made two appearances for the Shakers, looks set to be sidelined for four weeks after scans revealed a tear of the muscle. He has now returned to the Championship club to receive treatment. Shakers boss David Flitcroft said: "Rob has tore his thigh, he went for a scan and he is out for four weeks. "He has been getting some treatment here, had his scans and has gone back, it's just one of those things." Milsom's season has been blighted by injury so far, with an ankle problem suffered in pre-season restricting him to just one Millers appearance. He becomes the second Rotherham player to leave a loan spell at the JD Stadium early this season after the Shakers cut short goalkeeper Scott Loach's disappointing stay after just three games. Meanwhile, defender Keil O'Brien is also out for three weeks with a knee injury he picked up against Luton in their first-round FA Cup replay.
