Premier League: Lukasz Fabianski loses appeal against red card in Swansea's loss at West Ham

Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has lost an appeal against his sending-off at West Ham on Sunday.

Fabianski was shown a red card for a foul on Diafra Sakho after referee Chris Foy ruled Sakho had been denied a clear goalscoring opportunity.

City boss Garry Monk argued afterwards that Sakho had handled the ball before any contact with Fabianski, and an appeal was lodged with the Football Association.

But an Independent Regulatory Commission agreed with Foy's initial decision, and Fabianski will now miss the Super Sunday game against Tottenham at the Liberty Stadium.

Gerhard Tremmel is likely to deputise as Swansea aim to make it seven straight home games unbeaten.
