Hull City midfielder Mohamed Diame has been ruled out for two to three weeks with inflamed knee ligaments.
Diame, who had been suffering with an ongoing knee tendon problem, was forced to limp off early during Hull's 1-1 draw at Everton.
The Senegal captain had a scan on his knee and Hull boss Steve Bruce revealed he will be without the midfielder for up to three weeks.
Diame has been a star performer for Bruce since arriving in a £3.5m deadline-day deal from West Ham, scoring four times in ten games.
David Meyler was also forced off against Everton with a knee problem but the Irish midfielder is expected to be fit enough to face West Brom at the KC Stadium on Saturday.
Bruce said: "He has got a problem to the tendon in his knee and it's been bothering him for the last two to three weeks.
"He had another scan yesterday (Thursday) and the treatment will be done today.
"But we have got be patient with it because it's one of those where we have to let it settle and not let it flare.
"We hope that he's going to be involved over Christmas but at the moment it's going to be at leat two to three weeks to let it settle down and see if we can get him fit again."
