FC Utrecht condemned struggling NAC Breda to a fourth consecutive Eredivisie defeat with a 5-1 thrashing on Saturday.

Ruud Boymans opened the scoring after 11 minutes. Jeffrey Sarpong equalised eight minutes before the break only for Edouard Duplan to put Utrecht back ahead on the stroke of half-time.

The second half was then dominated by the visitors as Boymans grabbed his second nine minutes after the break and Rubio Rubin and Nacer Barazite ran up the score in the last 10 minutes.

Go Ahead Eagles fought back from two goals down to seal a 2-2 draw with Vitesse Arnhem.

Marko Vejinovic and Abiola Dauda each scored in a nine-minute period either side of half-time, but Alex Schalk netted in the 75th minute and Mawouna Amevor grabbed the equaliser with seven minutes to play.

Nemanja Gudelj scored twice as AZ Alkmaar claimed a 2-0 win away at Cambuur Leeuwarden.

The Serbian opened the scoring with a 39th-minute penalty and grabbed his second 10 minutes after the break.

In the day's other game, Wouter Weghorst's 47th-minute strike was enough to hand Heracles Almelo a 1-0 win at Heerenveen.
