Burnley boss Sean Dyche feels his side can learn some valuable lessons from their 3-0 defeat at Arsenal on Saturday.

Dyche's side produced a stubborn display at the Emirates, holding the home side at 0-0 for 70 minutes until Alexis Sanchez's opener broke their resolve.

Calum Chambers added a second two minutes later, with Sanchez getting his second in added time.

The result means Burnley have now failed to pick up a win in their opening 10 Premier League matches and are bottom of the table, five points from safety.

"It is a really harsh learning curve but that is this reality," Dyche told Sky Sports. "It is a really high state of learning for us, both for me as a manager and also the players.

Tom Heaton was disappointed with Burnley's defeat away at Arsenal as their search for a first Premier League win continues.

"There is a reality to our challenge and that is not our relaity, that is the top end of the market. They are a high-quality side.

"It is not just their technical ability as so many people think it is. They press from the shape, they are on the front foot and then you add in that physical pace and power with the ball.

"For 70 minutes I thought we were decent and stayed in the game. We had good shape and made it hard for them and also played some good football in pockets.

But once these teams get their noses in front they make it very difficult and they created three, four, five chances immediately after the goal and get another. From there on it is uphill.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche believes Arsenal's superior quality made the difference as his side suffered a 3-0 defeat away at the Emirates.

"It is a diffucult task that we have got but I feel we are making strides forward."

Dyche was also impressed with the display of Arsenal forward Sanchez and believes his own strikers can learn a lot from the Chilean international.

"I was saying to Danny Ings afterwards that part of his development is looking at that and understanding it," added Dyche.

"That is a player who is effervescent, has quality and he is brave.

"I talk to our strikers all the time about being on the move and arriving in the box and that is a great advert for that."

Saturday's scoreline could have been even worse for Burnley but for goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who produced a number of impressive saves.

"We knew the difficulties coming here and that it was always going to be a defensive performance," he said. "For the most part it was excellent but we're obviously disappointed with the goals.

"I'd have a favourite save if we had got a result, but it is still hurting a bit at the moment so I will look at them again later in the week."
