Lund agrees Rochdale deal

Midfielder Matty Lund has agreed a contract extension with Rochdale which will keep him at Spotland until the summer of 2016.

Lund's current deal was due to expire at the end of the season but he has played a key part in Dale's fine start to the campaign, featuring seven times for Keith Hill's side, who are currently ninth in the table following last year's promotion. "I'm really pleased that he has signed. He's a quality player who is well-liked and respected in the changing rooms," Hill told his club's official website. "He found it difficult being out injured and had time to contemplate. My advice to Matty was to sign his contract extension, play League One football and get that on his CV, so I was pleased to have the conversation with his representative and Matty himself. "He's happy and he's happy in his work - there has been a great conclusion. "I also think the football club itself is doing a really good job in keeping key players."
