Wales boss Chris Coleman saluted Reading's Hal Robson-Kanu after the winger's starring role against Cyprus.

Robson-Kanu has been restricted to just three appearances for the Royals this season following a knee injury.

But the 25-year-old put his fitness worries behind him with the second goal, teed-up by Gareth Bale, and played for 85 minutes as Wales ran out 2-1 winners in their European Qualifier.

"Hal hasn't been playing for Reading, he had medial ligament damage and probably hasn't played much more than an hour in the last six weeks," said Coleman.

"I thought he'd give us 45 minutes or an hour max, but he kept going. It wasn't just what he did with the ball, it was what he did without it. That was really pleasing."

Reading full-back Chris Gunter played the full 90 minutes and young winger Jake Taylor came on for his international debut as a replacement for Royals team-mate Robson-Kanu.
