Chesterfield loan Margreitter

Chesterfield have signed Wolves defender Georg Margreitter on a three-month loan deal.

Margreitter has been brought in to provide cover at centre-half following an injury to Sam Hird and the sale of Liam Cooper. The 25-year-old centre-back, who joined Wolves from Austria Vienna two years ago, spent last season on loan at Danish club FC Copenhagen. "I am delighted to have been able to sign Georg because we needed someone else in after losing Liam Cooper and Sam Hird," said Chesterfield boss Paul Cook. "Georg's career in English football has never really got going, for one reason or another, but he had successful spells in Austria and Denmark and we believe he'll be a useful addition to the squad." Margreitter is due to stay at the Proact Stadium until December 13, although Wolves will be able to invoke a 24-hour recall clause after 28 days. The Austrian is expected to be available for Chesterfield's League One game at home to Scunthorpe on Saturday.
