Reus suffered ligament damage in Germany's 2-1 European qualifier win over Scotland on Sunday and is expected to be sidelined for a month.

Dortmund kick off their Group D schedule against Arsenal on September 16 and Reus is also likely to miss their second clash with Anderlecht on October 1.

"Team doctor Markus Braun on Monday diagnosed a partial tear and stretching of ligaments. The club expects the player to undergo a rehabilitation programme of four weeks," a statement from the Bundesliga club read.

The 25-year-old was also ruled out of the World Cup earlier this year, which Germany won in Brazil, after suffering similar damage in their final warm-up game against Armenia in June.

Reus had only recently returned to action and looked to be quickly rediscovering his form before going down in added time on Sunday.
