Swansea City have signed Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll on loan for the remainder of the season.

The England Under-21 international bolsters Garry Monk's options in the centre, where he is currently without the injured Leon Britton and Jay Fulton.

Carroll joins Monk's squad just in time to be available for selection for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League fixture against Burnley.

This will be a fourth loan spell for the 22-year-old, who has also represented Leyton Orient, Derby County and most recently QPR, who he made 26 appearances for last season after joining on summer deadline day almost 12 months ago.

He is yet to start a Premier League game for Spurs, having played seven times off the bench, but he did make a handful of appearances in the Europa League over the last couple of seasons.
