Martin O'Neill will go head to head with Jurgen Klinsmann in the Republic of Ireland's final match of the year.

Ireland will take on the United States in a friendly in Dublin on November 18, with Republic manager O'Neill sure to relish the clash with opposite number Klinsmann.

Unlike the Republic, the US qualified for the World Cup, where they survived a tough group from which Ghana and Portugal failed to advance. German coach Klinsmann's team then fell to Belgium after extra time in a dramatic second-round match.

The autumn clash will be played at the Aviva Stadium, the FAI said in a statement.

It will follow four days on from the Republic's Euro 2016 qualifying match against Scotland at Parkhead in Glasgow.

Before the November fixtures, the Republic have a friendly against Oman on September 3 followed by European Championship qualifiers against Georgia, Gibraltar and Germany.
