Hearts’ dramatic 2-1 victory over Rangers was overshadowed by what appeared to be a serious facial injury to player-coach Neil Alexander.
The former Rangers goalkeeper was stretchered off in the second half of the win at Ibrox after an accidental collision with team-mate Alim Ozturk.
Alexander, who was replaced by another former Rangers keeper Scott Gallacher, now faces a spell on the sidelines following the injury.
Manager Robbie Neilson said: "It looks a bad one to be honest. He is away to the Southern General.
"He has a problem with his cheekbone. The doctor thinks it could be broken so it could be four to six weeks minimum.
"But I was pleased for Scott. He came in a few weeks ago. He wants to play football and he has the opportunity now."
