Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer believes the summer additions to his squad will help Rovers improve on last season's league position.
Bowyer has made three new signings in Luke Varney, Alex Baptiste and Chris Brown and is delighted how quickly they have taken to their new surroundings.
''They’ve settled in well," he told Sky Sports News. "Varney’s already been with us but he’s an important addition to us.
''Alex Baptiste has been brilliant since he’s been here and we’re just waiting on Brownie. We hope he will be available for Friday.
''The first thing I want is to continue to improve from last season when we finished just two points off the play-offs in eighth place.
''The message to the squad this season is to get better individually and collectively and that’s what we will be aiming for.''
And Bowyer believes his ability to retain the services of top scorer Jordan Rhodes, who has scored 51 goals in 89 league appearances, will be key to his main objectives next season.
''I think that shows the intent from the owners to keep hold of Jordan. His goal at the weekend against Premier League defenders was exceptional and he’s up and running already so that’s positive for us."'
Blackburn kick off their Championship campaign against Cardiff at Ewood Park live on Sky Sports at 7.30pm this Friday.
