Fleetwood have announced the signing of experienced defender Stephen Crainey after he left Wigan last month.
The 33-year-old, who helped the Cod Army's neighbours Blackpool win promotion to the Premier League in 2010, has put pen to paper on a one-year contract at Highbury.
"We have had our eye on trying to improve the squad. Every manager is the same and we thought we needed to bring in some more added quality and experience," Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander told the club's official website.
"Stephen Crainey certainly provides that, he has played at the top level and he is still hungry for success. He is chomping at the bit and he can't wait to get started."
