Dusan Tadic, Steven Davis and James Ward-Prowse earned Southampton a 3-1 friendly win at Brighton on Thursday night.

Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers have this week joined the exodus of players to have left St Mary's this summer but Saints are unbeaten under new manager Ronald Koeman in pre-season and were comfortable winners against their south-coast rivals at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton 1 Southampton 3 - Highlights

New loan signing Ryan Bertrand started at left-back, while Victor Wanyama made his first appearance of the summer in midfield after returning from international duty. Brighton, meanwhile, included new boys David Stockdale, Chris O'Grady and Aaron Hughes in their line-up.

Tadic, signed from FC Twente earlier this month, put Southampton ahead with a low effort after 19 minutes before Davis made it 2-0 two minutes before the break after Tadic had seen his shot blocked.

Ward-Prowse scored a stunning goal from distance just after the hour mark and, although Saints conceded their first goal of pre-season when half-time substitute Kazenga Lua Lua pulled one back for Brighton, Koeman will have been encouraged by the performance of his new charges.
