Dick Advocaat is being lined up to be the new Serbia coach, according to reports.

The Football Association of Serbia president Tomislav Karadzic was quoted by B92 radio and television station on Tuesday as saying Advocaat would officially take over from Sinisa Mihajlovic on August 1.

The 66-year-old, who has coached the Netherlands and South Korea at World Cups, has also led the national teams of United Arab Emirates, Belgium and Russia, and clubs PSV Eindhoven and Rangers.

Last season, the Dutchman returned home to coach AZ Alkmaar and helped them reach the Europa League quarter-finals.

Mihajlovic has switched to Sampdoria having paid the price for failing to steer the Serbia through last year's World Cup qualifying campaign.
