Queens Park Rangers midfielder Samba Diakite is set to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad on a season-long loan, according to Sky sources.
The Mali international, 25, has been in talks over a move to the Middle East and it is understood the deal will be completed within the next 24 hours.
Diakite, who signed following a successful loan spell from French Ligue 1 side Nancy, has made only 11 league starts for QPR and was loaned out to Watford at the end of last season.
But he was sent off in his first game for Watford, and failed to start in any subsequent matches.
Rangers boss Harry Redknapp spoke earlier this year of his surprise at the player’s decline, following an impressive start under previous boss Mark Hughes.
"He seems to have lost his way. We found it hard to get him going here, but he has got something,” Redknapp said in May.
“In the first year he came to QPR and the club stayed up he looked really good. I remember seeing him in a game against Arsenal and thinking ‘what a player he looks’.”
