Transfer news: Max Gradel wanted by several English clubs

Ivory Coast international winger Max Gradel could be back playing in England this season with a number of clubs looking to sign the St Etienne man.

The former Leeds United player enjoyed a successful season in Ligue 1 during the 2013/14 campaign, helping Les Verts secure an impressive fourth-place finish.

His form also secured a call-up for Ivory Coast’s World Cup squad and, while he only played in one group game, he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and relished the opportunity to be part of the game’s showpiece event.

Gradel’s form has not gone unnoticed in England where several clubs are hoping to land the goal-scoring winger’s signature.

UK-based agent Tra Desmond told Sky Sports: “There are a number of teams looking at Max. Nothing has been agreed, but there’s plenty of time left in the window.

“It’s no secret Max enjoyed his time in England with Leeds and he would be open to the prospect of returning where the style of play suits his game.”
