Bournemouth have made a second bid for Coventry striker Callum Wilson, Sky Sports understands.

Bournemouth have made Wilson one of their top transfer targets this season and have already seen one seven-figure bid earlier this month rejected by Coventry.

However, Eddie Howe is understood to have gone back with an improved bid for Wilson as they look to tempt Coventry into selling their prize asset.

Coventry are facing a battle to keep Wilson with the 21-year-old having scored 22 goals in all competitions for the Sky Blues last season.

A number of Championship clubs are keeping tabs on Wilson, but Bournemouth are hoping to win the race for the pacey forward as they look for a replacement for Lewis Grabban following his recent switch to Norwich.
