Hartlepool defender Josh Rowbotham has signed a new undisclosed contract with the club.
The 20-year-old, who can also operate in midfield, made his debut for Pools towards the end of the 2010/11 campaign and is hoping to break into Colin Cooper's first-team plans next season. "It's been a nerve-wracking time, but it was a massive thrill when the gaffer told me he wanted to keep me and going home to tell your family you have a new contract is the best thing ever," Rowbotham told the club's official website. "My ambition now is to try and challenge for a natural spot in the first team and really show Colin Cooper what I am capable of."
