Curtis Davies believes Shane Long has the qualities to make life miserable for opposition defences following an eye-catching home debut for Hull City.
Likening his team-mate to 'a rat', Davies has paid tribute to Long's energetic running and fighting spirit, but also his ability in front of goal.
The Irishman scored for the Tigers in a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at the KC Stadium on Saturday, and Davies is happy to be lining up on the same team.
"Shane brings great legs and desire," said defender Davies.
"I've played against him numerous times and he's a rat - he doesn't give an inch.
"Whether he is having a bad game or not, he doesn't let you rest.
"That's what he brings and he is able to keep frustrating centre-halves by running them down the channels.
"Then, when he gets a chance, he shows he's not just a runner.
"He can finish - just like he showed against Spurs."
Long linked up well with fellow January signing Nikica Jelavic against Spurs, and Davies is confident their partnership will continue to flourish.
He said: "The two of them can complement each other. It is good. The way it showed here was good.
"The more games they play together, the more they'll get to know each other's games and I think we can hopefully enjoy the fruits of them scoring goals together."
