Crewe have confirmed that they have released goalkeeper Alan Martin from his contract by mutual consent.
The 25-year-old started 32 games last season and began this campaign as the Alex's first-choice stopper but veteran Steve Phillips took that spot at first, before Neil Etheridge and then current incumbent Ben Garratt have kept Martin on the sidelines. Martin departs Gresty Road having made a total of 41 appearances for the League One club.
