Wycombe have confirmed the signing of Wigan's Jordan Mustoe on an initial one-month loan deal.

Having spent time on loan at Barnet, Carlisle, Morecambe and Bury, the 22-year-old defender is no stranger to lower-league football and will be eligible for Saturday's clash with Oxford should manager Gareth Ainsworth choose to call upon him. The former Liverpool youth player is yet to make a first-team appearance for his parent club but is excited at the prospect of helping the Chairboys climb the League Two table. "I can't wait to get going," Mustoe told the club's official website. "I'm really looking forward to playing games and I'm eager to get back into it. "I'll give my all in every game and I'll work hard in training. I'll do my defensive duties first and then anything going forward is a bonus." His new boss, Ainsworth, was equally excited about having Mustoe at Adams Park and praised parent club Wigan for their assistance. "Jordan is a player who will definitely add to the squad," he said. "He's athletic, strong in the tackle, got a great left foot and a first-class delivery - he's a natural defender. "We haven't got the biggest budget to work with which we understand, so it's great to be able to call upon our close contacts at Wigan. "We appreciate their and Uwe Rosler's help."
