Egyptian midfielder Mahmoud Hassan wants to leave Al-Ahly for Celtic, and expects an offer from the club this week.
Hassan, also known as Trezeguet, has made it clear he is keen for the move to the Scottish Premiership.
The 19-year-old previously said he wants to join the Hoops as soon as possible and is keen to start "a new chapter" in his career.
"I've stated I want to sign for Celtic. And I have been told that Celtic's official offer to the club will arrive this week," the Daily Record quotes him as saying.
The midfielder has handed in a transfer request to his current club after they said they will not sell him.
"All players dream of playing at a higher level and I won't give up on my dream.
"Especially since everybody knows the name and popularity of a club like Celtic who have been successful at European level."
