Olivier Giroud does not want Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to buy another striker during the January transfer window.

The France international's comments follow reports that Wenger is looking to boost his firepower at the Emirates, as the Gunners chase a first Premier League title in 10 years.

Giroud has netted 11 goals in all competitions for the north London side this season, including the only goal in Sunday's impressive win at Newcastle.

That victory lifted Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League table heading into 2014 at the halfway stage of the season.

And the 27-year-old believes Arsenal have more than sufficient attacking options at their disposal for the remainder of the campaign.

He is quoted as saying by French TV station Canal+: "If the coach wants me to rest, he can do it without buying a new striker.

"Lukas Podolski is having a good comeback. Theo Walcott can play as a striker. We have the quality and the quantity.

"I would rather not see a new striker come in."
