Brown has red rescinded

Matty Brown has had his red card against Plymouth rescinded after Chesterfield lodged an appeal to the Football Association.

Brown, a summer signing from non-league Marine, had an eventful debut for the Spireites last weekend, scoring an early goal to set Paul Cook's men on their way to a 2-0 home win before being sent off in the second half. The 23-year-old was shown a straight red card following a challenge on Argyle forward Caolan Lavery which resulted in a penalty. After studying video evidence submitted by Chesterfield, the FA Regulatory Commission has overturned the decision after ruling that it was a case of wrongful dismissal. Brown's automatic suspension has been withdrawn and he is now eligible for Friday night's game at Exeter.
