Ayr United's Michael Moffat has been served with a notice of complaint by the Scottish Football Association for allegedly betting on matches.
The 29-year-old striker is alleged to have placed seven bets on six games involving his own club between August 3, 2012 and August 10, 2013, in breach of Disciplinary Rule 33.
And he is also alleged to have bet on 150 matches between February 19, 2012 and September 1, 2013, although the charge does not allege that he placed bets against his own team.
The date for his principal hearing has been set for Thursday, January 16 next year and Moffat, who has scored 44 goals in 106 matches for United, has until Tuesday, December 24 to respond to the complaint.
Disciplinary Rule 33 states that 'No club, official, team official or other member of team staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall bet in any way on a football match (except authorised and registered football pools).
