Rafael says that Manchester United fear nobody in the UEFA Champions League having progressed to the knock-out stages as Group A winners.

David Moyes' side enter the last 16 on the back of an unbeaten campaign so far, with the 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk sealing pole position and bringing an end to a run of two straight defeats at Old Trafford.

United's status as group winners means their potential next-round opponents include AC Milan, Galatasaray, Olympiakos, Schalke and Zenit St Petersburg, but the Brazilian is confident regardless of who they will face.

"I can remember last season when we also won the group and yet we played Real Madrid. I hope something like that doesn't happen again but we can take anyone," he told United's official website.

"Manchester City won 3-2 against Bayern Munich, which is a surprise, but City finished second so we can't play Bayern yet. I think that is a good thing."

Speaking of the victory over Shakhtar, the 23-year-old acknowledged that winning the game has now put them in a position to get a more favourable draw.

"It was important to come first in the group," he said.

"We did the job and it was very important.

"Shakhtar worked hard and played well in the first half but we kept the ball well in the second half. Their Brazilian players have skills and it was a hard game but, in the end, it is a good result for us."
